To apply for the Working Families Tax Credit in My DOR you need a SecureAccess Washington (SAW) account.
How to login, submit, save, and edit an application
Sign in
- Create a SecureAccess Washington (SAW) account to access My DOR

- Click the Log in button.
- On the My DOR Login page, click Sign up and enter your First Name and Last Name. Then, enter and confirm your Primary Email address.
If the email address is already used with an existing SAW User ID, an alert message displays. To create a new User ID, click Create New ID or to look up your existing User ID click Forgot my SAW User ID. - It is highly recommended that you enter an Additional Email address and Mobile Phone Number to enable additional options for Multi-Factor Authentication.
- Enter a SAW User ID. The User ID must be 4 to 32 characters and is not case sensitive. You can also use an email address as a User ID.
- Enter and confirm your Password. Your password must be at least 10 characters, and include at least three of the following attributes:
- Uppercase letter.
- Lowercase letter.
- Number.
- Special character (e.g. $, %, #).
- Check the box in the Accept the Access Agreement section to acknowledge the My DOR Access agreement.
- Complete the Security Validation section by checking the box next to I’m not a robot. You may be asked to complete a validation challenge.
- Click Register. You will receive an email from MyDOR@dor.wa.gov with a link to activate your account. Click on the link in the email to activate and sign in.

The email also contains an Activation code. You can enter this code on the Activate Account page. After you activate your account, a banner message displays “Your account is now active.” - Log in by entering your SAW User ID and Password, then click Log In. If asked, complete the Multi-Factor Authentication challenge to verify your identity.
- On the My DOR Services page, in the Individuals and Families section, click Working Families Tax Credit.
- On the Working Families Tax Credit page, click the Apply button.
- On the Profile Information page, select a primary phone number Type, input the primary Phone Number in the Phone Number field, select a security Question, and input the Answer. This information is used to verify your identity if you need help logging in.
- Click Save to begin the Working Families Tax Credit application. Follow the steps in the Apply for the Working Families Tax Credit in my DOR help topic.
- Check if you have a SAW User ID

You may already have a SecureAccess Washington (SAW) User ID if you log into online services for other Washington State agencies (for example, the Department of Licensing, Secretary of State, or the Department of Social and Health Services.)
- Click the Log in button.
- Under New user? Sign up, click the Check if you have a Secure Access Washington (SAW) user ID link.
- Enter your Email Address.
- Complete the Security Validation section by checking the box next to I’m not a robot. You may be asked to complete a validation challenge.
- Click Submit and then, click OK.
Check your email for a message from MyDOR@dor.wa.gov. The email will provide your user ID or a notice that a user ID was not found.
- Forgot your SAW User ID? Get a reminder

- Click the Log in button.
- Click the Forgot User ID? Link next to SAW User ID.
- Enter your Email Address.
- Complete the Security Validation section by checking the box next to I’m not a robot. You may be asked to complete a validation challenge.
- Click Submit and then, click OK.
Check your email for a message from MyDOR@dor.wa.gov that will provide you with your user ID or a notice that a user ID was not found.
- Forgot your password? Reset it

- Click the Log in button.
- Click the Forgot Password? link next to Password.
- Enter your SAW User ID and Email Address.
- Complete the Security Validation section by checking the box next to I’m not a robot. You may be asked to complete a validation challenge.
- Click Reset Password and then, click OK.
- Check your email for a message from MyDOR@dor.wa.gov that will provide you with a temporary password or a notice that a user ID was not found.
- On the My DOR Log in page enter your SAW User ID and temporary Password and then, click Log in to My DOR.
- Enter your Current or Temporary password.
- Enter and confirm your New password. Your password must be at least 10 characters, and include at least three of the following attributes:
- Uppercase letter.
- Lowercase letter.
- Number.
- Special character (e.g. $, %, #).
- Click Save Changes. If asked, complete the Multi-Factor Authentication challenge to verify your identity. You have successfully updated your password.
- On the My DOR Services page, in the Individuals and Families section, click the Working Families Tax Credit link.
Access your account
If you do not see your account information, you most likely will need to add access with a Letter ID or request that the Administrator on the account grants you access.
- Add access to an account with a Letter ID

You will need:
- The Letter ID included in official correspondence about your account from DOR.
- The twelve-digit Working Families Tax Credit account number that is also printed on official correspondence from DOR.
- Click the Log in button.
- Log in by entering your SAW User ID and Password, then click Log in to My DOR. If asked, complete the Multi-Factor Authentication challenge to verify your identity.
- On the Working Families Tax Credit page, click the My DOR Services link. If you are on the My DOR Services page, continue to the next step.
- On the My DOR Services page, click Access your account using a letter ID.
- If you are prompted to enter profile information, complete the required fields, and click the Save button. If not, skip this step.
- On the ID Validation page, enter the Letter ID included on correspondence from the Department of Revenue, and click Next.
- Enter the Account Number as required on the Gain Access page.
- Review the account information, and click Submit.
- On the Confirmation page, click OK. Your account is now added to the Summary tab on the My DOR Home page.
- Request a letter to add access to an account

If there is no administrator linked to your online account in My DOR, you can request that a Letter ID be mailed to the address on file. If there is an administrator already set up for your account, you can contact that administrator and request that they grant you access.
- Click the Log in button.
- Log in by entering your SAW User ID and Password, then click Log in to My DOR. If asked, complete the Multi-Factor Authentication challenge to verify your identity.
- On the Working Families Tax Credit page, click the My DOR Services link. If you are on the My DOR Services page, continue to the next step.
- On the My DOR Services page, click Access your account using a letter ID.
- If you are prompted to enter profile information, complete the required fields and click the Save button. If not, skip this step.
- On the ID Validation page, check the box next to Click here to request a Letter ID be mailed to the address on file.
- Select an Account Type and enter the required identification number. Click Next.
- Review the account information and click Submit.
- On the Confirmation page, click OK. The letter will be mailed to the address on file.
Secureaccess.wa.gov
- I use secureaccess.wa.gov. Is that the same user ID and password?

Yes. SecureAccess Washington (SAW) is a login and password that lets you access the online services of multiple state agencies. This service is provided by Washington's Consolidated Technology Services.
Create a SAW user ID and password on secureaccess.wa.gov
If you are not sure you have one, check if you have a SAW user ID.
- On secureaccess.wa.gov click the Sign Up! button.
- Enter your First Name, Last Name and Primary Email.
- It is highly recommended that you enter an Additional Email Address and Mobile Phone Number to enable additional options for Multi-Factor Authentication.
- Enter a Username. The Username must be 4 to 32 characters and is not case sensitive. You can also use an email address as a Username.
- Enter and confirm your Password. Your password must be at least 10 characters, and include at least three of the following attributes:

- Lowercase letter.

- You may be asked to complete a security validation by checking the box next to Verify you are human.
- Click Create my account. You will receive an email from secureaccess@cts.wa.gov, with a link to activate your account. Click on the link in the email to complete the activation and sign in. If the email address is already being used with an existing SAW account, an alert message displays. To create an additional account, click Continue creating an additional account, or to look up your existing accounts click Help me find my existing accounts.
- On the My DOR Services page, in the Individuals and Families section, click the Working Families Tax Credit link.
Reset your SAW Password on secureaccess.wa.gov
- On secureaccess.wa.gov click the Forgot your password? link.
- Enter Your Username and Confirm Your Email.
- You may be asked to complete a security validation by checking the box next to Verify you are human.
- Click Reset and then, click Close.
- Check your email for a message from secureaccess@cts.wa.gov that will provide you with a link to choose a new password or a notice that a user ID was not found.
- Click the link to choose a new password.
- On the Change Your Password screen, enter and confirm your New Password. Your password must be at least 10 characters, and include at least three of the following attributes:
- Uppercase letter
- Lowercase letter
- Number
- Special character (e.g. $, %, #)
- Click Update. You have successfully updated your password.
Forgot your SAW username? Get a reminder from secureaccess.wa.gov.
- On secureaccess.wa.gov click the Forgot your password? link.
- Enter your Email Address.
- You may be asked to complete a security validation by checking the box next to Verify you are human.
- Click Send and then, click Close.
- Check your email for a message from secureaccess@cts.wa.gov that will provide you with a reminder of your user ID or a notice that a user ID was not found.
- Use secureaccess.wa.gov to add DOR Services

Once you have SAW access, you will need to add DOR services to your account.
- On secureaccess.wa.gov, log in by entering your Username and Password then, click the Submit button.
- Click Add a New Service to add Department of Revenue services to your list.
- Click I would like to browse a list of services by agency.
- Select Department of Revenue from the list.
- Click the Apply button next to All DOR Services.
- You will see the Registration Complete message. Click OK.
- To access My DOR, click the Access Now button and then, click Continue. If asked, complete the Multi-Factor Authentication challenge to verify your identity.
- On the My DOR Services page, in the Individuals and Families section, click the Working Families Tax Credit link.
Use secureaccess.wa.gov to access DOR Services
Once you have added DOR services to your account, you can access them by completing the following steps:
- On secureaccess.wa.gov enter your Username and Password, then click Submit.
- Click the All DOR Services link.
- Click the Continue button, to continue to the Department of Revenue My DOR Services page. If asked, complete the Multi-Factor Authentication challenge to verify your identity.
- On the My DOR Services page, in the Individuals and Families section, click the Working Families Tax Credit link.
